ALVIRA LAURENTINA'S WEDDING STORY

Ola Again!
I am back again with another new beauty post and this time it is featuring my makeover for my personal Friend / Air Asia Stewardess / Breeze Model Finalist - Alvira Laurentina!

It seemed like only yesterday when I last met her from the BMS competition and then she became a Flight Attendant with Air Asia and the next thing you know, now she's finally found someone to settle down with! How time really flies before your eyes without realizing it.

Anyway I am both happy and honored that she had asked me to do her wedding makeup and wedding gown as well for her reception! Thank you so much for believing in my talents as well has trusting me with my service. It really means a lot to me!

So without further ado, here are her before and after photos :
Closeup of Alvira's completed Makeup & Hairdo.

This was the final outcome of Alvira's makeover and I'm glad that I'd manage to meet all her requirements without compromising my style of work. Basically she wanted a dramatic transformation makeover but I suggested to not over do the makeup and instead give more focus on the eyes and brows with a softer touch on the complexion for a more radiant look.

I began by first tackling her round eyebrows by giving it more of a defined arched shape to lift her down-turned eyes. Then I proceeded to create a baby doll eyeshadow technique to create the illusion of bigger eyes and for that added glam, I also added glitter to the lids to make her top lids more visible in photos. I then completed her eye makeup by applying my personally hand made lashes!

Next was her to tackle her blemished skin. Despite all her flaws, I absolutely LOVE her deep skintone, it just reminds me of that JLO complexion! So I blended two different shades of liquid foundation to suit her's medium deep skintone as well as to create that contoured effect. After achieving the desired coverage, I then proceeded to work on giving her that healthy bronzed glow without going overboard with the crazy illuminator which can sometimes translate into looking greasy in pictures!

I have to say that I am super satisfied because all of the photos had no flashback whatsoever! And trust me when I say that my NIKON D90 can be pretty ruthless when it comes to flash photography and as you can see in the photos I posted, her foundation just looks like skin!

I am super happy to have finally mastered the flawless and natural foundation routine for all skin tones thanks to endless trial and error. You may think that it's nothing but the last thing you want is for your bride to look grey or ashy!

To finish this look I used my Chanel Rogue Allure Velvet Luminous Matte Lip Color in 44 La Diva as she preferred a matte finish to her lips and didn't want anything bold like Red or neutral like Peach as her dress was already nude-hued.

Now moving on to her dress!

Before her wedding, Alvira had already purchased some French Lace from Indonesia during one of her trips and wanted me to create a modern Malay Wedding Dress for her reception and this was the final masterpiece!

This practically took me a week to complete and again, I am happy with the finished product and how great it looks on her! I will probably do another separate post for this dress and I didn't have much time to take more photos of the details and more.

So stay tuned for my next post, there's so much in store for everyone! Take care and don't forget to tell me what you think?

MASREENA ABIDIN'S WEDDING STORY

Ola Everyone!
I am back with a new makeover post and this time it is featuring my artwork for Masreena Abidin's Wedding Reception at Ming Garden Hotel last 28th of Decemeber 2012!

Masreena contacted me via online to do her Bridal Makeup and Hairdo for her KK reception ( She lives in KL ) and requested me to do a subtle makeover look because she doesn't usually put on much makeup. Plus the MUA who did her KL reception made her look like a drag queen in her opinion, all thanks to overdose makeup application and on top of that her husband didn't her previous makeup look at all because it didn't look quite 'her'.

So basically I gave her sort of a no-makeup, au-naturel look to help maintain her facial characteristics and beauty. Here are her before and after photos :
Ironically I think she looks a little like a fair version of Janet Jackson!

The final finished look of Masreena's KK Reception makeover by me.
Her hairstyle was created based on a picture she had shown me. Her dress is by her KL Designer friend who also came along with her to add the finishing touches to her dress!
So this was the outcome of the makeover and rest assured that the makeup looked much more natural in person compared to this one posted as the 'after' picture was taken after sundown and there was not enough light to capture a naturally illuminated shot like her 'before' picture.

I am happy that both husband and wife were extremely happy! In the words of Sydney ( Masreena's Husband ) - "Ini barulah makeup!"

Although Masreena said she wanted an Au-Naturel makeup look, she did emphasize that wanted her blemishes all concealed so I used a full coverage foundation to give her that porcelain finish! Otherwise a sheer coverage would have been sufficient to achieve the 'no-makeup' makeup look.
Here is a closeup of Masreena's Au-Naturel Makeup Look.

Her brows were filled in to frame her face better but not defined as she wanted it to look effortless. Eyes were a half-smokey cut crease with emphasis on the top liner. Her lower lash line was lightly smudged to awaken the eye area and cheeks given a touch of warm bronzer, no bright colors allowed! Lips were finished with a salmon peach lip color.
Lovin' this candid shot of Masreena! She really does look beautiful, with or without my makeup.
Okay I know that this must be super overdue but better late than never right? As you can see I am trying my best to continue where I left off and I hope that you guys love the changes in my blog and posts. Don't forget to leave your opinion at the comment box below!

Stay tuned for my next post tomorrow where I'll be doing a new Beauty Review on my new babies @ makeup stuff! If you're on my Instagram, you probably know what they are by now. Just drop by again to find out more!

Behind SMOTY Season 4

Welcome back darlings! As promised, here is a follow up of my previous post for Sabah Model of The Year Season 4.

So as most of you who follow me on Facebook would already know that I am the Makeup Artist & Designer for SMOTY Season 4 Finalist Mei May @ Kong Su Mei  for the finals as well as Wardrobe & Makeup Sponsor for SMOTY Season 3 Winner - Valentina Eddie.
Here are some exclusive behind the scenes photo backstage including their individual makeovers kick starting for my makeover for Valentina :
Before & After of Valentina's Makeover.

Valentina with her AMAZING crown! Thank GOD I got to try it before they took it away and yes I got to try it on. Fact number two, I did this dress in under ONE Day together with her!

Full shot of my Elie Saab inspired gown on Valentina. I initially wanted it to be more of a ballgown design however since she didn't want to wear a cancan, we just let the lower part of the gown flow.

Before and After of Mei May's Makeover.

Just a quick run through of her makeup look.
FACE : I used M.A.C's new Matchmaster Foundation in 3.0 and used the same foundation in 1.0 for Highlight and 5.0 for Contour. To set I used Chanel's Natural Finish Loose Powder in 30 Naturel.
BROWS : I used M.A.C Fluidline in Dipdown and set with The Body Shop's Eyebrow Duo Powder. EYES : using Urban Decay's Naked 2 Palette and Lips is finished off with NARS Lip Lacquer in Chelsea Girls.
For overall finishing, I used Chanel's Les Beiges Healthy Glow Sheer Powder in N10.

You got to contour that face!
Closeup of Mei Mei's Makeup Look. LOVE! LOVE! LOVE!

For the second and third round, I changed her makeup to compliment her wardrobe with emphasis on Red Lips and more defined eyes.
Next moving on to my wardrobe creations for Mei May.
This season's SMOTY competition was divided into 3 Rounds. The first round was a dance opening number with introductions ala Miss Universe with red satin outfits provided by the organizers. Round Two was "Cheongsam to The World" which featured creative oriental-inspired costume designs reflecting the origins of the Chinese Cheongsam and finishing with Round Three where it was all about finalists parading in their Evening Gowns.

I did both Mei's Creative Cheongsam & Evening Gown from Design to Execution till the final presentation and here are the detailed results of my masterpieces. A pre-judging session was organized prior to the event to closely evaluate the workmanship of each contestants' /designers' creation for each category.
My creation for the Creative Cheongsam Category which was hugely inspired by old chinese temple architectures.

Back view of my Creative Cheongsam Design.
Evening Gown Creation!
Among my two creations, I started with this first and finished this to the last hour! I guess you can safely say that I really feel that for this piece, I really challenged myself to the limit ( which means lack of sleep! ) and hands down if anyone were to ask which would be my personal best work, I would be so happy to say that this is The One!
Backstage getting ready for Round Three!

Loving this shot because obviously you can see both the front and back of my masterpiece. And Yes, that entire mess on the vanity table is mine!

Final touches - Sewing the finishing details to my masterpiece just before the runway, just like they do in Fashion Week!

I am super happy that everything that I have envision has finally manifested into a real garment and looking back at this, I am happy that my month of sleepless nights has paid off. My only concern is that I wish that I had added a full round layer of tulle as opposed to draping them like in this picture as it can have a mind of its own! Otherwise I am super duper HAPPY!

Full view of my Evening Gown Masterpiece!
A shot of my Killer Back as I would like to call it. This was the only photo from my camera that was actually clear enough to be posted! Surprisingly I have been getting tons of compliments from a lot of people including the judges on how much they love it!
In the end of the competition, if you haven't read my previous post,
Mei May won 2nd Runner Up for Sabah Model of The Year Season 4
as well as another subsidiary title for The Best Catwalk!

The gorgeous Mei May with her awards. Congratulations gal!

Just feel so blessed! It is indeed a step up from not winning anything at all at the last Golden Designers Competition. Amen to that!

Anyhow I have compiled a special collage of all Top 3 Winners in each design category for your viewing pleasure. Let me know what you think in the comments section below!

Round Two - Creative Cheongsam Design

Round Three - Evening Gown Design

So we've come to the end of my post & I hope you guys enjoy reading everything that I posted.Congratulations once again to Mei May on your achievements! I couldn't have had a better model to showcase my masterpieces. Thank you also to Baby for helping me out in completing my creations.
It really means a lot to me!

Until next season, see you again SMOTY! I am most certainly excited about the theme for next year!
Stay tuned to my next post as I will be doing my first ever BEAUTY REVIEW!

It's Official. My classmate is getting engaged!

I'm so excited!
It's really a great feeling when someone you've known from way back when
gets married. It kind of gives me flashbacks to to the good ol' school days.
Never in a million years did I imagine that I would be doing her makeup
on her engagement/wedding day!
Anyways, here is the lovely Siti Asmah before & after.
Basically she wanted a simple makeover for her intimate engagement ceremony
at home so I did a very minimal day look for her without going overboard.
She basically doesn't use so much makeup so I understand where she is coming from
- In other words, nothing too va-va-voom or unrecognisable.

Here are more photos of her after makeup.
To achieve this look, I did neutral tones for her eyes and cheeks.
The emphasis was more on contouring her face to give her a
slimmer look not forgetting to give her smoother skin.
A touch of pink was added to her lips to complement her lavender outfit.
Simple Updo since she will be wearing a veil.

Congratulations Girl!

Looking forward to doing your wedding in December!

Till next time,

XOXO

Renawati Jamudi's Wedding Story featuring Mon Amour

Hello Lovlies! How have you been?
I am super excited about this post because not only is it about Rena's makeover
but it also features one of my dresses from my Mon Amour Collection!

Rena contacted me one day to do her wedding makeup and
the first time I saw her she instantly reminded me of Wendy Radin,
a friend whom I madeover for Unduk Ngadau DBKK in 2011.

So without further ado, here is Rena before her makeover:
Rena admits to not usually putting on makeup on a daily basis
so I did my best to not overdo her makeup by giving her
an au naturel look but with emphasis on her sleepy eyes.
Foundation was kept as close to her natural skintone which was tan
& it is important not to make her look fairer otherwise
it would appear 'ashy' in photos.
Lips were kept neutral to complement the minimal feel of her look.

Here is Rena after her transformation.
As this makeover was for her wedding reception in the evening,
I channeled the Beyonce Bronze/Golden Red-Carpet look for inspiration.

Hair was wavy and styled into a modern updo as she specifically
requested to have a diffrent hairstyle apart from her pre-wedding photos.
I then attached a diamond encrusted brooch as an accessory from my collection
to finish her hairstyle. Simply Chic and Exclusive!
Available for purchase or rental. Kindly email makeupbyjeff@gmail.com for more details.

Here are the newly weds as they made their grand entrance together into the ballroom.
She wore a creamy/peach gown from her bridal vendor for her first look.

Next it was time to amp up the drama!
During her first visit to my home boutique, Rena instantly fell in love with
my Red Ruffled Dress from my Mon Amour Collection on display &
finally confirmed it a few days before her wedding!
I have to say it fits her perfectly
and gives her that absolute glamour needed for her reception!
Red Ruffled Dress from my Mon Amour Collection available for rent.
Contact me on my Facebook page or email makeupbyjeff@gmail.com for more details!
 As for her makeup,
I intensified her eyeshadow to make her eyes pop even more and
changed her nude lip color to Scarlet Red to go with her already fabulous dress!
Hair was let down and swept to one side for that romantic feel.
Diamond Jewelry Set also from my Mon Amour Collection available for rent.
Contact me on my Facebook page or email makeupbyjeff@gmail.com for more details!
 Congratulations Patrick & Rena!

Hope you enjoy this post!
Don't forget to comment and share this post if you like my work.

Till next time lovelies,
XOXO
