Zaidah's Nikah Makeover

Looks like I wasn't going to have a long and
relaxing Merdeka weekend after all...Duty Calls!
Well at least I do enjoy what I do so that alone
makes life so much easier.

Today I did Zaidah's Nikah Ceremony makeover who actually
hails from Sandakan but works at KLIA 2( I didn't even know that there was a KLIA 2 before this so I felt slightly un-smart. )
But now I know! *smug*

Anyhow this is what Zaidah looked like before the makeover.
Basically she wanted her eyes to appear bigger and
for her skin to appear smooth and even.
Her wedding theme was Purple & Pink so we took that
as inspiration for her look.

And here are the results...
So to give her that wide eye look I did a Black + Purple
eyeshadow from Urban Decay with dramatic lashes.
I gave her face more shape by applying e.l.f studio's Contouring Blush & Bronzing Powder and finished her cheeks with a touch of Diorskin Ultra Shimmering All Over Face Powder.

I also fixed her eyebrows to give her face a more polished look.
Lipstick was 'Lucky' from Dior for that soft and
romantic finish.
For her hair I did a simple up-do with a side parted front for a softer look.

Hope you guys like her look.

Till next time, gotta wake up at 4:30am for a few makeover jobs later today. It's so gonna be a busy day for me!

XOXO

Malaysia turns 55 today!

Time really has a way of slipping us by when we least expect it.
Soon it will be time for Halloween followed by Christmas and
New Years Day.
Today marks the 55 Years of Malaysia's independence and althought I never consider myself a patriot, this post is inspired by Merdeka or rather the colors of the Malaysian Flag.

Behold Dior's AW 2012 Haute Couture Set which is
to-die-for!
Oh my Dior, you will always be my inspiration.

Wishing all my blog readers a happy holiday!
Till next time,
XOXO

my first BOTOX!

I admit it, I have Botox. NOT!
But now that I've got your attention, let me say that I have nothing against Botox or any other cosmetic procedure if it makes you a happier person while boosting your confidence level.

So before I age *cringes* (hopefully in a handsome manner),I have decided to give myself extra attention to maintain my eternal youth.
My recent trip to Kiehl's Store Opening in KK was indeed a blessing in disguise after recieving some freebies! *yayyyer*

I still can't believe that I got all these stuff for free!
( 5 items were in the goodie bag and the rest were samples. )
One of the great things that I love about Kiehl's is their approach to skincare & give out free samples to customers for them to try out at home before deciding to purchase any in the future!

So before I go ahead with my Kiehl product review let me upload a before & after photo of myself for reference.I have a combination skin type & this is me before taking a shower/washing my face.
(My main concerns were my sometimes oily skin and terrible eyebags!)
AFTER. Well not really much of a difference expect that my face was much fairer/brighter.

So here are the products which I used for the very first time today.
Kiehl's Ultra Light Daily UV Defense with SPA 50+++ UVA
I honestly don't use sunscreen on a daily basis because it tends to oil up my skin & clogs my pores so that's why I was a little apprehensive to use this at first.
I used this in place of my regular mositurizer and I have to say that I was quite pleased with this as the formula really grabs into your skin without feeling heavy!
It does somehow feel greasy after a few hours but maybe it's just me who is not used to using sunscreen or perhaps because I applied this late afternoon?
The great part about this is that it is oil-free and contains SPF 50+++ which helps protect against premature skin aging and is safe for sensitive skin.
This product retails at RM140 in stores & I am lucky to get it for FREE!I'll give my final rating after using it for a week.
The only downside of this is that it leaves a sheer 'fair' veil over my tan skin so it may not be suitable for darker individuals.

Kiehl's Powerful-Strength Line-Reducing Concentrate
The next item that I applied was this eye cream to address my dark under-eye circles. I absolutely fell in love with the texture which was rich and dense while applying. It also didn't feel oily or greasy!
The greatest part was the continuous delivery of 10.5% of Pure Vitamin C which you can feel when applying due to the warm heat when it reacts with your skin.
You may feel a slight tingling sensation after a few minutes which means this product really works!

Kiehl's Lip Balm #1 - Petrolatum Skin Protectant
A Kiehl’s classic and #1 bestseller, soothing lips since 1969! Formulated with soothing emollients Squalane, Lanolin and Sweet Almond Oil as well as Vitamins A and E.
But my advise is to do not attempt to lick/taste the balm as it can leave a tangy/slightly bitter after taste!
*trust me I learned the hard way thinking it was flavoured*
I personally don't use lip balm daily as I am an 'au naturel' kinda guy so I kinda find this lip balm a little too greasy for my liking. I prefer the stick ones which are more solid as to a liquid version of Vaselline all over your lips!
Perhaps if my lips were chapped then this product would be great!

Kiehl's Ultimate Strength Hand Salve
The final item that I tested was this Hand Salve/Cream which provides all-day care for severely dry, active hands.
Being an avid user of Nivea & Vaselline, I discovered that this stuff is really good. I mean absolutely fantastic! Their formulation is unlike any other products I tried in the market so I'd have to give a 2 thumbs up for this!
It absorbs real quickly as to opposed to waiting for it to settle which can sometime leave ogreasy marks/handprints/thumbprints over glass & plastic - which I find really annoying.
It's almost like the eye cream texture which is dense and rich at the same time. Even after washing the dishes I felt my own skin feeling soft and supple! A knockout must-have!

Hope you enjoyed this review!
Till next time darlings,
XOXO

ANTM Cycle 19

Yes, the wait is over!
America's Next Top Model Cycle 19 is finally here & you will be surprised with the changes.

If you haven't heard, this cycle Tyra decided to do things differently by creating a College Edition to prove that models can be smart & narrowed her search to 30 finalists across the States.
Her opening trailer is totally HILARIOUS!

Also, the J's are GONE! No more Mr.Jay & Miss J who is replaced by none other than Katy Perry’s stylist and best friend, Johnny Wujek. A former model himself, Johnny knows more than his fair share about producing a phenomenal photo shoot.
This cycle will also see a new panel of judges including PR Maven - Kelly Cutrone and
hottie male model - Rob Evans.

But wait, they saved the best for last - Please make way for a drama queen!
Blogger BryanBoy has joined Cycle 19 as a "social-media correspondent" for this season.
If you do not know who BryanBoy is, you need to go back to school to learn your Fashion betchis!

Panel aside, it's time to get down to the contestants. As I mentioned earlier 30 promising girls were chosen from across various sororities, universities and colleges across the US to compete this season.

To kick start, the selected 30 were asked to do a fashion walk-off on a ramp built over a pool and
a photo shoot afterwards to see their hidden potential.
Here are some of the girls who caught my attention!
Nastacia ( right ) totally worked it out!

There's something about Victoria's look that intrigues me.

Definitely my top favourite - Laura. Gorgeous eyes & her mom was Miss Australia in the 80s.

I love love love the look of this girl - Maria.

Out of the 30 girls only 13 finalist were selected to the next round.
Here are the photos of my top favourite girls to win, who made it to the final 13 cut.

I am glad to say that all 8 of my predictions were correct!
*The rest don't matter and are going to be eliminated earlier anyways.
MARIA

LAURA

NASTASIA

 DESTINY

VICTORIA

KIARA

ALLYSA

LEILA

So who is going to be America's Next Top Model?
Stay tuned to the next episode to find out who will be eliminated.

Till next time,
XOXO

totally adorable

hmm now this makes me want to watch a movie!

Kiehl's comes to KK

Yes! Finally my fashion spread is done so I have decided to share with you one last post before I go and get my well deserved beauty sleep.

Well for those of you who are already fans & following my official Facebook Page, you would have already known that I had the greatest pleasure of being invited to the world reknowned Kiehl's Store opening in KK!
I received an email last week containing this invitation and had no second thoughts to RSVP the wonderful people at Kiehl's.

So fast forward to yesterday, I went to the event with my gorgeous Editor for Breeze Mag - Noor Ali and needless to say it was worth it!

We arrived in style ( which I frantically did not know what to wear ) at about 3:30 in the afternoon and were greeted by their friendly staff. I have more photos of the store HERE so do feel feel to check it out!

Now here comes the good part - THE GOODIE BAG!
Need I say more with this expression?
One word to describe the moment I unravelled it at home :
Ahhhhhhhhh!!!
* think high pitched scream*
I'll tell you more about the products soon after i've done testing them

Till then, XOXO my lovelies. Time for some sleep!

the return

After being sober from bloging ( thanks to Facebook & Twitter ), I today I was suddenly inspired to once again to put my thoughts online. Will this be the return of yours truly to blog-land? We'll just have to wait and see won't we? *wink*

Anyhow in the middle of finishing my fashion editorial for next month's issue of Breeze Magazine, I came across this lovely photo online that's too irresistable to not share with the rest of the world.

Looking at these pictures make me want to get married by the beach!
Okay enough for now, I need to finish my spread for print later today. Oh which by the way is beach/summer inspired *in case you haven't been paying attention!

Till next time, XOXO my lovelies!
